Someone driving a white car with Illinois license plate number A19-2322 pulled up next to my friend's car, got out of his car and punched our other friend in the face repeatedly through his open window because he thought we shouted something derogatory at him, which we definitely did not. Then he got back in his car and drove away, and even though there was a police officer driving right behind us and we flagged her down (this was in downtown Chicago) she said she couldn't do anything and suggested that we not even bother filing a police report. We had to take my friend to the hospital because he was bleeding profusely from his lip and nose, and he needed several stitches on both his upper lip and nose. Since the police seem to not be able to do anything (or at least claim they can't) figured I'd see what I could do here.
